Linking DMS Files to the Hub

After you add files to the Document Management System (DMS), you will need to link them to the Intranet in order for users to find them. You may link files using the following steps:

• Hyperlinks to a specific file or DMS folder
• Intranet Navigation Blocks to a specific file or DMS folder

To hyperlink a specific file to the Intranet using the following steps:

1. Sign into the Intranet and locate the DMS file you would like to link to (see below).

2. Once you have selected the file, move your cursor to the right of the file. Options will appear (see above).
3. It is recommended you select View in Browser (see above, indicated by the red arrow).
   1. NOTE: This works best on Internet Explorer 11. For other browsers, click on the file name (see above, highlighted in yellow), copy the URL, and then skip to step six below.
4. This will then open the file in another window.
5. Copy the URL.
6. Go to the Intranet Admin, decide where you would like this file to appear on the Intranet.
7. In the below example, a new Internal Page has been created with a hyperlink to the file (see below).

       8. Follow the steps to creating a New Internal Page. (To learn how, look for the training on Creating a New Internal Page.)

To hyperlink a specific folder to the Intranet using the following steps:

1. Sign into the Intranet and locate the DMS folder you would like to link to (see below).

2. Once you have selected the folder, copy the URL (see above, highlighted in yellow).
3. Go to the Intranet Admin, decide where you would like this file to appear on the Intranet.
4. In the below example, a new Internal Page has been created with a hyperlink to the file (see below).

To create a Navigation Block to a specific file or folder using the following steps:

1. Follow the steps of in the examples above to locate the file or folder you want to link to.
2. Go to the Intranet Admin, and decide where you would like the block to appear on the Intranet.
3. In the below example, a new link has been created (see below).
